In past years, CIR has held an annual Summer Seminar, which encompassed three half-day lectures that focuse on the art, culture and history of a country or region.  This past year, we adopted a new format and called it the CIR Spotlight.  The Spotlight, entitled From the Long March to Walmart, concentrated on modern China.  It featured lectures, workshops and social events spanning 5 days in early June—a successful, well-attended series of events.
