Ms. Dougher is currently the Senior Economic Advisor for the American Petroleum Institute in Washington, DC. In her position as a principal spokesperson for the API, she analyzes energy markets, energy policy issues and informs policy makers, the media and the public on energy issues.
The talk will focus on worldwide economic growth and energy consumption and highlight the differences between the U.S. and other countries. She will look at forecasts for future U.S. and global energy consumption for all types of fuels. Energy independence, worldwide ownership of energy reserves and the competition between national companies and private investor owned energy companies as well as policy recommendations to enhance America’s energy security will be discussed.
Prior to her appointment to the API, Ms. Dougher was with the Institute for Energy Analysis where her research focused on carbon dioxide and energy demand and supply forecasts. She holds a MS in economic development and East Asian studies form American University and regularly appears on national TV speaking for the API on energy issues.
